Tulips
You soak up the sun becoming more golden than before a radiance never foreseen in the cold earth of winter Somewhere your bulbs sleep, Wrapping dreams in protective layers Another spring will come All fever gone You shed golden Petals and pollen on the brown floor I have hope You tell me this is ok 14/3/21 (golden tulips from the florist) (C) February snow
Wayward flakes in defiance of gravity dance and spin swirl in lazy spirals dance and span for a brief eternity the space between heaven and earth… spinning, swirling, conjuring the miracle of whiteness when the dance is done and all is still enchantment that brings grown men out to play defying frozen fingers 2/2/2009 (edited) (C) |
Heron
Spirit of stone materialised … you stand so still … living silver softened by blue and raincloud greys … Then you move your neck a ballerina’s arm that undulates with deliberation your eyes dive deep tracking the streaks of silver and fiery red that animate the water turning from one to another and another so many, too many you turn and turn then become all stone again 22/5/07 Kyoto Garden (C) I am a winter wonderland
I am a winter wonderland frost spreading its magic through each vein along every fibre I am a forest sparkling in the morning sun roots anchored far, far below weight supported by the pure white snow I let the North wind blow delighting in ice and shades of white I am a snow queen in a glittering land neither cruel nor kind 5/1/2021 (C) |
